SNOWMOBILE SAFETY PROGRAM

PROGRAMS OBJECTIVE

   

To prevent snowmobile accidents and improve the quality of recreational snowmobiling by teaching the safe operation and handling of snowmobiles, the understanding, respect and need for safe snowmobiling and it's related laws and to teach snowmobile operators an
understanding and respect for the environment and other peoples' rights.

COURSE CONTENT

   

The snowmobile safety course consists of a basic Ten hours of instruction in the principles of snowmobile safety. Nine hours of classroom study are spent in gaining a knowledge of the snowmobile laws, snowmobile related laws, snowmobiling terms, safe snowmobile operation and awareness of hazards and the snowmobile's responsibility to himself, other snowmobile’s, the environment another people's rights. The final hour is optional and spent out-of-doors in the actual operation of the snowmobile and in an operator's examination.

ELIGIBILITY AND FEE

   

Anyone eleven years of age or older is eligible, including adults. The course fee of $10.00 covers the cost of students' workbooks, training aids, and administrative costs. The Plymouth Snow Ranger’s Snowmobile Club will pay the course fee of any student whose family is a member of our club. Club membership is $25 a family.

The field test is optional, but highly recommended You will need a helmet that fits. We would like you to bring the snowmobile that you will be driving. You must have a parent or guardian along for the field test. You will not be able to drive alone until you pass the field test. Driving TEST HERE
