Vintage 20 years and Older

 

IFS-F Class Rules

Chassis


Must be of OEM configuration as delivered from the factory
Must be of 1992 or earlier model year as identified by serial numbers

Engine



Engine displacement must not exceed 500cc as identified on engine casting
Fan or Free Air Motors Only
NO internal or external modifications to engine or exhaust allowed.
NO carburetor size changes or intake modification (reeds,porting,exc.)
NO ignition modifications

Clutch / Gearing



Any OEM or aftermarket clutch systems allowed.
Engagement must not exceed 4000 rpm as determined by inspectors.
Any combination of gears is allowed
NO rolling or relocation of chain case allowed.
NO addition of jackshaft allowed on non-jackshaft chassis

Suspension / Steering


Any suspension design (leaf springs, trailing arm, A-arm,PRS, or TSS)
Front and rear suspension must remain stock as delivered from factory
1992 or older Only
Shocks may be changed from oil to gas; must be the same length as OEM
NO long travel suspensions of any kind allowed
NO aftermarket suspensions of any kind (m-10,exc)
Steering systems must remain OEM as delivered from factory
Handlebars only may be change in the interest of comfort / safety

Leaf springs under 500cc



Snowmobile specifications

Any snowmobile regardless of model year manufactured as leaf sprung front suspension.

Engine must be of sled manufacture and NOT to exceed 500 c.c. displacement.

Engine must be of design and configuration offered in leaf sprung chassis.

Must be consumer available non-race specific model. (No limited production race sleds allowed)

Stock exhaust only. No aftermarket pipes allowed.

Exhaust must be correct for engine application.

Updated primary and secondary clutching is allowed.

NO flat slide carbs allowed.

Stock type steel skis only. Plastic ski skins are allowed. No special racing skis allowed. (Anderson or other aftermarket brand)

Ski Stance 36" max. center to center distance.

Ski carbide length is unlimited.

Stock rear suspension is recommended

Replacement of rear suspension is legal, but must have 6" travel or less. NO SUSPENSION DEEMED AS LONG TRAVEL WILL BE ALLOWED. NO Aftermarket rear suspensions

Any rubber track is legal as long as it does not exceed 1" max in lug height. 121" length or less. cleated tracks are not allowed

Maximum 96 studs in the center belt Only 3/8 over the lug. Center belt between the inside edges of slide rails.

Tail light must be operational.

Must have working tether.

Personal safety equipment highly recommended. (Snell 2000 approved helmet, Tek Vest or Safe-Jac, knee pads, shin guards, elbow pads)
